The Emissaries of Divine Light, British Columbia are part of an International network of people whose primary purpose is to encourage the experience and expression of divine identity. Emissaries of Divine Light is a community of people dedicated to serving within a larger spiritual body, stewarding the collective purpose of the divine on earth. As stated below in the mission statement of the Emissaries, an Emissary is one who is "assisting in carrying forward" - a work of spiritual healing/awakening. Their mission statement is:
“To assist in carrying forward a work of Spiritual regeneration of humanity,
under the inspiration of the Spirit of God, and in the advancement thereof.”
In the late
seventies, EDL was changed from
a British Columbia Society operating as a non-profit to a federally
registered charity. The charity is governed by an elected Board
of
Directors (shown at left).EDL, B.C. is made up of many individuals living throughout British Columbia and the Yukon. There are more identifiable communities located in Abbotsford ( Edenvale ), 100 Mile House ( The Lodge ), and Whitehorse, Yukon ( Hodiyin ). Each community has a unique quality that brings forth a shared purpose.
The Four Functions of EDL, B.C. are described below :
Each
community in British Columbia and the Yukon, whether residential or
virtual, share the committment to live creatively and responsibly,
guided by the wisdom of Source.The first community developed in British Columbia was the 100 Mile House Lodge, the home of one of the Emissary founders Martin Cecil. Over the years the remaining communities developed throughout B.C., each unique and fluid in size and duration — growing, contracting and changing according to the needs of spirit.
Attunement as practiced by The Emissaries is
a form of vibrational alignment and healing which evolved out of work
begun in 1929 by Lloyd Meeker. This approach acknowledges that
each of us is a combination of human — physical substance drawn from the
earth — and being, the invisible,
animating life force. Inherent in Being is unlimited energy and
purpose coming from Source. Attunement is a process of clarifying
and deepening our connection with Being and Source, despite physical,
mental or emotional impediments. We see attunement as a vital
component of the spiritual renaissance emerging in the world today. 
The Emissaries support and sponsor
programs, seminars, workshops and conferences which foster spiritual
awakening and expression, and develop leadership. Each community
in B.C. and the Yukon offer different educational programs and classes.
The Emissary courses that are offered are Journey Into the Fire ( description below ), The Opening, The Deepening Spiritual Expression and Spiritual Leadership. Worship — of God, Source, Being — is a natural expression of those
who know Universal Spirit as the essence of themselves. Equally
natural is the compulsion to join with others in worship, praise,
prayer
and thankfulness. Emissaries in B.C. and the Yukon
convene services that clothe this impulse using innovative forms of
